Hier nun werden die wichtigsten unterschiedlichen Eigenschaften der Faserverbunde behandelt und damit rundet dieses Buch den gesamten Bereich der Faserverbunde mit gerichteten Fasern ab. Gegenstand des Buches sind mechanische (statisch, dynamisch), temperaturabhängige, chemische, elektrische, konstruktive und wirtschaftliche Eigenschaften, sowie Streuung und Qualitätssicherung, Recycling, Brand- und Stabilitätsverhalten sowie Crash- und Ermüdungsverhalten im Rahmen der Faserverbundtechnologie. Viele bisher unveröffentlichte Ergebnisse wurden verwendet und zumeist durch Beispiele erklärt. Interessant sind auch die elektrischen Eigenschaften und die zusätzlichen, beträchtlichen Einsatzmöglichkeiten der aktiven Funktionsbauweisen.
