Robert Begay had no idea his studies and lectures on Evil, and those who pursue power for pleasure, would lead him to a surprise confrontation with the personification of evil itself. Photos of himself and his girlfriend are left dipped in blood, and his truck and home are vandalized, leaving Robert bewildered and angry over intrusions into his life and into the lives of his loved ones. The death threats and attempted kidnappings of Tess haunt his days as the school year at the Navajo Community College where Robert teaches, draw to a close. Strange dreams of an ominous black bull leave him even more puzzled. Then just before the Spring Equinox, Robert is taken from his ranch and kept a prisoner, bound and immobile. The master mind behind the stalking and threats is revealed, and the diabolical plot he has planned, with Robert as the main attraction, proceeds with clockwork precision. Robert must fight his captivity and the plans for his murder by drawing upon the strength and honor of Monster-Slayer, the Navajo warrior-god of his heritage. Not even Robert himself knows if he will be able to fight and win against the terrible end planned for him.

Reconsideration by Richard Bauckham has suggested that the author was a Jerusalem disciple who housed the ''Last Supper.'' This book explores the possibility that he was present...

  • Through the years with prince charming
    Paul du Quenoy
The past decade has overflowed in a raging stream of contradictions. Old certainties have yielded to relentless insecurity over a time when much of the human experience got immeasurably better even as many things only ever seemed to get worse. As Paul du Quenoy’s globetrotting criticism reveals, the arts were in a ferment that matched profound and yet totally unpredicted social...

In 1759, the court of the Italian Duchy of Parma adopted the inspiration of cultural creators who recommended a reform of Italian opera along French lines. Loomis shows in this groundbreaking volume, the you...
