Butea monosperma (Lamk.) Taub. est l’une de ces plantes médicinales communément appelées Palas (flamme de la forêt) et appartenant à la famille des Fabaceae. Elle est répandue dans toute l’Inde, à l’exception des régions arides (Sharma et al., 2000). Butea monosperma (Lamk.) Taub. a divers effets curatifs qui sont observés dans le traitement de nombreuses maladies. Les informations sur Butea monosperma (Lamk.) Taub. sont très maigres et il a donc été jugé intéressant d’entreprendre le présent travail pour étudier les propriétés antidiabétiques, antimicrobiennes et antioxydantes de différentes parties de Butea monosperma (Lamk.) Taub. Une analyse phytochimique préliminaire a été réalisée pour les feuilles, l’écorce et les fleurs de Butea monosperma (Lamk.) Taub. Des analyses TLC et HPTLC ont également été réalisées. Le colorant des fleurs a été extrait à l’aide de différents solvants polaires et non polaires. L’activité antimicrobienne de la feuille, de l’écorce et de la fleur de Butea monosperma (Lamk.) Taub. a été évaluée par la méthode de diffusion sur puits d’agar en utilisant l’agar de Mueller Hinton contre certaines bactéries gram positives et gram négatives.
