La morphologie détaillée des espèces a été étudiée et les caractères d’importance taxonomique ont été notés pour préparer la clé. L’identification correcte a été réalisée en faisant correspondre les spécimens avec le protologue et les spécimens types. Les auteurs ont suivi des ressources en ligne telles que IPNI et WCSP pour tirer des conclusions concernant la nomenclature. Le travail donne un aperçu de la diversité des Salviens en Inde. Le travail a été réalisé dans le cadre de la thèse de maîtrise par le deuxième auteur.
