Une étude a été mené afin de comparer la production des ovules, des larves et du taux d’éclosion des femelles de poissons chats africains soumis à l’induction hormonale hypophysaire et sous l’OVAPRIM mais également évaluer la résistance de ses larves à la privation des aliments pendant deux semaines.Quatre femelles et quatre mâles ont été sélectionnés et gardés des bacs en briques, pour un bon suivi des opérations. Quatre paramètres ont été observés, le poids des ovules par femelle, le taux d’éclosion, le nombre des larves vivants, ainsi que la résistance de ces larves à la privation alimentaire.Nous avons trouvé de taux élevé d’éclosion de 87% pour l’hypophyse et 80% pour l’OVAPRIM mais également de nombre élevé des larves vivants 52.000 pour l’OVAPRIM et 64.000 pour la glande hypophysaire. Nous avons trouvé pour des larves soumis au jeûne, après deux semaines après la résorption vitelline suivi d’une privation alimentaire, nous n’avons obtenu que 15 sujets morts pour l’hypophyse et 7 sujets morts pour l’OVAPRIM.À l’issue de cette investigation, des résultats encourageants, bien que préliminaires, ont été obtenus. Ce travail réalisé dans une structure hors-sol (dans les bacs).
