Die Weltgesundheitsorganisation weist darauf hin, dass 80 % der Bevölkerung keinen Zugang zur medizinischen Grundversorgung haben, weshalb viele Menschen Heilpflanzen zur Heilung verschiedener Beschwerden verwenden. Das traditionelle Volkswissen wird jedoch in nicht aufgezeichneter Form weitergegeben. Heilpflanzen sind ein wichtiges Instrument zur Förderung der Gesundheit, sowohl für die ländliche als auch für die städtische Bevölkerung. Ziel dieser Untersuchung war es, das traditionelle Volkswissen zu diesem Thema unter den Studenten des IFSULDEMINAS Campus Muzambinho - MG zu ermitteln und aufzuzeichnen. Die Arbeit trägt dazu bei, das traditionelle Volkswissen über Heilpflanzen zu retten und zu registrieren, um so das Aussterben dieses Wissens zu verhindern und dazu beizutragen, dass diese Tradition nicht ausstirbt. Auf diese Weise wird das richtige Wissen über die Verwendung von Heilkräutern und die ideale Zubereitung jeder einzelnen Pflanze weitergegeben.
