O principal objetivo deste estudo foi investigar a relação entre o estilo de liderança do diretor e a cultura de aprendizagem escolar nas escolas secundárias do condado de Uasin Gishu, no Quénia. Foram definidos cinco objectivos de investigação específicos para orientar a investigação: determinar o tipo de estilos de liderança que os diretores das escolas secundárias praticam nas escolas; determinar as dimensões da cultura de aprendizagem escolar que se manifestam nas escolas secundárias; identificar as relações entre os estilos de liderança dos diretores e as dimensões da cultura de aprendizagem escolar, a fim de identificar a relação entre as duas variáveis numa escola típica, determinar se os estilos de liderança diferem em função da experiência dos diretores no terreno e descobrir os desafios que os diretores das escolas secundárias enfrentam na utilização de estilos de liderança para melhorar a cultura adequada. Foi utilizado um modelo de inquérito descritivo. Os instrumentos utilizados para a recolha de dados foram o questionário e a entrevista. Os dados foram analisados com recurso a estatísticas descritivas, incluindo frequências, percentagens, tabelas e estatísticas inferenciais. Os resultados mostram que a liderança do diretor de uma escola afecta a cultura de aprendizagem da escola.
