Lo studio riguarda gli adolescenti con disabilità intellettiva e la loro inclusione sociale, nonché il modo in cui questa inclusione sociale viene vissuta dai familiari. L’obiettivo di questo studio è stato quello di scoprire i fattori legati all’inclusione sociale degli adolescenti con disabilità intellettiva. Si tratta di uno studio descrittivo con un approccio qualitativo ed esplorativo, condotto nell’aprile 2018 presso l’Associazione di Genitori e Amici Eccezionali (APAE), a Sobral-Ceará. Hanno partecipato undici madri di adolescenti con disabilità intellettiva. I dati sono stati raccolti attraverso un’intervista semi-strutturata, che ha riguardato il profilo socio-economico delle famiglie studiate, la famiglia come supporto all’inclusione sociale, l’inclusione sociale dal punto di vista dei caregiver e il processo di gestione familiare dell’inclusione sociale. Le informazioni sono state organizzate e sottoposte ad analisi tematica del contenuto. La ricerca è stata approvata dal Comitato etico della ricerca del Centro universitario INTA (UNINTA) con il rapporto n. 2.568.762. Lo studio mette in evidenza il profilo delle famiglie studiate, con un basso livello di scolarizzazione e un reddito basso, con solo i sussidi come fonte di reddito.
