El propósito de este libro es equipar al lector(a) con los conceptos y las destrezas básicas de la predicación para que pueda ser efectivo desde el púlpito. La información que se presenta es pertinente pero no exhaustiva. Los sermones son sencillos, pero teológicamente estudiados. Los mismos fueron expuestos por el autor en Puerto Rico y en congregaciones hispanas en los Estados Unidos. Estos sermones pueden ser usados como punto de partida o como material de crítica para los estudiosos de la exposición bíblica. Es el anhelo del autor que Dios bendiga a cada persona que ha abrazado la responsabilidad de esgrimir la Palabra. El Rev. Rivera pide al Señor que les ayude a nutrir la mente y a transformar el corazón de los oyentes a través de la espada de dos filos que es la Palabra de Dios. 'Porque la Palabra de Dios es viva y eficaz, y más cortante que toda espada de dos filos (Hebreos 4:12a)
