Le littoral tunisien, représentatif des côtes méditerranéennes vulnérables aux changements climatiques, à l’élévation du niveau de la mer et aux pressions humaines, montre une érosion généralisée affectant à la fois les secteurs naturels et urbanisés. Trois zones ont été analysées : Rafraf, le Golfe de Tunis (Port aux Princes-Sidi Daoued) et Hammamet. À Rafraf, un épi favorise l’accrétion en amont mais provoque un déséquilibre sédimentaire en aval. Entre Port aux Princes et Sidi Daoued, malgré l’absence de pressions anthropiques majeures, le recul du trait de côte depuis un siècle est lié à l’élévation du niveau de la mer et à l’hydrodynamique locale. À Hammamet, l’érosion récente est accentuée par l’urbanisation et l’augmentation de l’énergie hydrodynamique, entraînant un changement granulométrique des sédiments. Ces résultats soulignent le rôle central des cellules littorales et l’importance d’une gestion intégrée et durable des côtes méditerranéennes, fondée sur la compréhension des processus naturels et l’adaptation au changement climatique.
