Cette étude analyse l’évolution du littoral et la dynamique sédimentaire du Golfe de Tunis (Méditerranée Sud) pour évaluer la stabilité des plages sableuses. Elle s’appuie sur une approche pluridisciplinaire combinant l’analyse granulométrique et minéralogique des sédiments, l’observation au microscope, la modélisation des houles et des courants, ainsi qu’un suivi diachronique du trait de côte sur plus d’un siècle (1887-2010) via la télédétection et les systèmes d’information géographique.Les résultats révèlent trois faciès sédimentaires, sableux, sablo-vaseux et vaseux, dont la répartition dépend des apports fluviaux, de la pente des fonds marins et de l’énergie hydrodynamique. L’évolution du trait de côte montre une alternance d’érosion et d’accrétion, influencée par les aménagements humains, la géomorphologie sous-marine et les courants de dérive littorale. Malgré des zones localement érodées, le bilan sédimentaire global reste positif, traduisant un léger engraissement ou un équilibre, et souligne la nécessité d’une gestion intégrée du littoral face aux pressions humaines et au changement climatique.
