Cette recherche analyse les grandes complexités de l’identité socioculturelle et les expériences traumatiques associées aux enfants à trait d’union dans 26a de Diana Evans et ’Onyeka Nwelue. Le postcolonialisme a constitué le cadre théorique de l’étude, avec des idées tirées de ' de Homi K. Bhabha et de ' Enfance et société ' de Nick Lee. Le résultat montre que dans le contexte des expériences contemporaines de l’enfance, rien n’est absolument fixe en ce qui concerne l’identité des enfants. De même, d’après notre description des textes, les modèles thématiques qui émergent dans la représentation de l’enfance et de la transculturation sont les défis de la double nationalité pour les enfants, la crise inhérente aux enfants ayant des êtres hybrides, la politique de genre et le dilemme psychologique et le traumatisme pour les enfants ayant un héritage racial mixte provenant de continents disparates. L’étude conclut que les forces durables d’Evans et de Nwelue en tant que romanciers résident dans leur capacité à signifier l’identité instable des enfants à trait d’union culturel.
