El presente libro tiene como propósito dar a conocer la experiencia construida al desarrollarse la Investigación Acción Participativa (I.A.P), como fórmula para potenciar el empoderamiento organizativo de un colectivo afrodescendiente. Para ello se expone en el primer capítulo algunos datos que sirven de contexto para la investigación, posteriormente, en el segundo capítulo, se hace referencia a los aspectos más importantes del planteamiento del problema de investigación. Después en el tercer y cuarto capítulo se aborda los elementos conceptuales y metodológicos que guiaron la Investigación, Acción, Participativa, por último, en el capítulo quinto, se tratan las reflexiones y enseñanzas del ejercicio realizado. En esta experiencia se configuran líneas de acción que pueden ser importantes para reflexionar sobre cómo diseñar estrategias para el empoderamiento comunitario y profundizar en futuros estudios que den cuenta de las situaciones que debilitan el sentido de pertenencia organizativa. El propósito de los autores es generar reflexión sobre el potencial de la I.A.P como alternativa en procesos organizativos comunitarios.
