Empfehlungssysteme, die kollaborative Filterung verwenden, sind sehr anfällig für das Cold-Start-Problem, da sie ausschließlich auf der Grundlage der Präferenzen der Nutzer arbeiten. Daher haben Forscher kürzlich effiziente Hybridlösungen vorgeschlagen, sogenannte „hybride Empfehlungssysteme', die sowohl inhaltsbasierte Filterung als auch kollaborative Filterung kombinieren, um die Leistung zu steigern. Dieses Buch versucht, das Cold-Start-Problem zu lösen und gleichzeitig eine Webanwendung zu implementieren, die auf den Informationen der Nutzerprofile basiert. Schließlich wurden die Ergebnisse von Fragebögen und Interviews zur Geschäftsanalyse herangezogen.
