Faced with a care environment marked by a high emotional load, this study aimed to assess the level of emotional intelligence among midwives, identify the emotional skills most in demand and analyze their role in managing complex situations, with a view to proposing concrete avenues for integration into training.A quantitative, analytical and cross-sectional study was carried out among 50 hospital midwives in Greater Tunis between January and March 2025. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire incorporating the Emotional Competence Profile (ECP), following a validated pre-test. Statistical analysis was carried out using SPSS, in compliance with ethical research principles. This study highlighted the importance of emotional intelligence in the clinical practice of midwives. Its integration into initial and in-service training appears essential for strengthening relational skills and improving the quality of care.
