Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2009 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Arbeit, Ausbildung, Organisation, Note: 1,3, Philipps-Universität Marburg (Gesellschaftswissenschaften und Philosophie), Veranstaltung: Kulturtheorien, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Da Kulturtheorie einen theoretischen Entwurf zum Verständnis von Kultur darstellt und somit im „Schnittpunkt' vieler verschiedener Wissenschaften steht, wie zum Beispiel Ethnologie, Soziologie, Anthropologie, oder auch Politikwissenschaften, wird deutlich, dass Kulturtheorie an sich sehr stark von anderen Disziplinen beeinflusst wird. Das grundlegende Verständnis über die Gesamtheit menschlichen Zusammenlebens im sozialen Umfeld steht dabei im Vordergrund. In Kulturtheorien sollen theoretische Grundlagen erarbeitet werden, um das Verständnis von Kulturen zu erweitern, dabei werden andere Kulturen gewissermaßen beobachtet. Der Begriff „Theorie' kommt vom griechischen und bedeutet: beobachten, betrachten oder auch anschauen. Nun gibt es äußerst viele Theoretiker, oder Wissenschaftler, die das Verständnis der Kulturtheorie mit ihren Anschauungen beeinflussten. Inwieweit dies von statten ging soll im Folgenden beschrieben werden. Dabei soll eine Auseinandersetzung mit dem einflussreichen Soziologen „Emile Durkheim' geschehen, um so seine Gedankengänge veranschauliche zu können. Was genau macht seine Theorie aus? In welche Zeitspanne ist diese einzuordnen? Wo und unter welchen Umständen entstand diese Theorie? Zu allererst soll eine Definition dessen entstehen, was Kultur genau ausmacht. Was umfasst Kultur, wodurch entsteht Kultur, worauf basiert diese und wodurch wird Kultur vermittelt. Anschließend erfolgt eine Biographie Emile Durkheims, um ein Verständnis dieser Person erlangen zu können. Vor allem seine Analyse der sozialen Arbeitsteilung soll im weitesten Sinne dargestellt werden.
