Entgegen dem gängigen Trend, Erziehung als statisches Merkmal zu verstehen, legt Christoph Weber seinen Fokus explizit auf Zusammenhänge zwischen Änderungen von Erziehungsdimensionen und Änderungen von externalisierenden Verhaltensproblemen. Unter Verwendung der Daten des DJI-Kinderpanels und anhand von Latent-Difference-Score- und Latent-Growth-Curve-Modellen zeigt er, dass Externalisierungsprobleme im untersuchten Altersintervall (8-11 Jahre) rückläufig sind, eine unterstützende Erziehung den Rückgang der Verhaltensprobleme fördert bzw. eine koerzive Kontrolle dem Rückgang im Wege steht. Effekte der Externalisierungsprobleme der Kinder auf die Erziehung (Child Effects) werden über die mütterliche Wärme (Liebe und Vertrauen) vermittelt.
