Dieses Taschenbuch will eine kurzgefasste Einführung in die naturgemäss abstrakte Vorstellungswelt des Elektroingenieurs vermitteln, und dabei den formal sehr einfachen Unterbau der Elektrotechnik klar hervortreten lassen. Mit besonderer Sorgfalt versucht der Autor, von Anfang an Assoziationen zu analogen mechanischen Modellen zu wecken. Dieser Versuch richtet sich vor allem an solche Studierende der technischen Wissenschaften (vorab Maschineningenieure), die weder die Zeit noch die Motivation besitzen, um sich ausgedehnterem Literaturstudium widmen zu können; was allein schon im Studienplan genügend belegt ist. Aus diesem Grund waren neben der Einführung der Begriffe zwei Fach-Schwerpunkte zu bilden: Einem der Schwerpunkte (Messtechnik) ist ein ganzes Kapitel gewidmet nebst Schaltungsbeispielen in den übrigen Abschnitten. Der andere für die Ausbildung eines Maschineningenieurs wesentliche Schwerpunkt (Antriebs­ technik) soll Gegenstand eines weiteren Bandes sein. Der Versuch richtet sich aber in zweiter Linie auch an jene Ingenieure und Techniker der Elektroindustrie, sowie auch an studierende Elektroingenieure höherer Semester (wo die Motivation in ausreichendem Mass vorhanden ist), welche etwa den Wunsch haben sollten, ihr spezielles Wissen aufzufrischen durch die hier sauber formulierten inter­ disziplinären Verknüpfungen. Dass die Methodik analoger Modellvorstellungen von dauernd aktuellem Interesse ist, im Hinblick auf mathematische Problemlösungen auf allen Gebieten der Technik, braucht einem erfahrenen Ingenieur nicht erst ausdrücklich gesagt zu werden.
