L’obésité est associée à des troubles métaboliques et un stress oxydatif intense qui peuvent être aggravés avec l’âge. Le but de cette étude estde tester l’effet bénéfique d’huile de lin qui est riche en acides gras polyinsaturés de la famille n-3 (AGPI n-3) sur les désordres du métabolisme lipidique et du statut redox induit par le régime cafeteria (hyperlipidique et hypercalorique) chez les rat wistar âgés. Les ratsâgés sont répartis en six groupes nourris par le régime témoin (standard) enrichi ou non en huile de lin à (2,5% ou 5%) et d’autres par le régime cafeteria enrichi ou non en huile de lin aux deux concentrations également. Les sacrifices sont effectués sur les rats après deux moisde régime. Des prélèvements sanguins et d’organes (foie, tissu adipeux, muscle, intestin) sont effectués afin de déterminer les modifications du métabolisme des lipides et du statut redox. Les résultats obtenus montrent que le régime cafeteria induit une obésité, une hyperglycémie, et une hyperlipidémie avec altération de la composition en acides gras du sérum et des organes chez les rat wistar âgés.
