Depuis près de cinq millénaires, le soja nourrit des millions de personnes, mais il reste vulnérable aux nématodes à galles (Meloidogyne spp.), ravageurs redoutables. Face à ce fléau, l’usage massif de pesticides chimiques nuit à la santé et à l’environnement. Ce livre explore les pesticides organiques comme alternative durable et abordable. L’étude, menée à Kinshasa (commune de Mont-Ngafula) selon un dispositif en blocs complets randomisés, compare quatre traitements: extraits d’Euphorbia tirucalli, feuilles fraîches de Panicum maximum enfouies, nématicide chimique Nema B2, et témoin sans protection. Les résultats révèlent que les extraits d’E. tirucalli et le Nema B2 réduisent significativement l’indice des galles (0,4 et 0,3), tandis que P. maximum et le témoin affichent des indices plus élevés (1,05 et 1,65). Au-delà de la protection contre les ravageurs, ces solutions organiques améliorent la croissance et le rendement, offrant aux agriculteurs un moyen efficace de produire durablement.
