Ha pasado más de un cuarto de siglo desde que enseñé el 'mini-curso' sobre educación cristiana reformada que result en este libro. Me di cuenta que tan largo ha sido este tiempo cuando inserté 'y nietos' en la dedicatoria de esta edición. Sin embargo, nada ha cambiado con respecto a la naturaleza o la necesidad de escuelas cristianas para los hijos del pacto. La decisión de la Reformed Free Publishing Association [Asociación libre de publicación reformada] de publicar el libro obligó a una edición exhaustiva de la publicación original (1977), que no era simplemente la colocación de portadas alrededor de las conferencias originales. La tarea de edición despertó una fuerte tentación de ampliar el tratamiento del tema. ¡Cuán escasa, por ejemplo, es la explicación en el capítulo 1 del pacto de gracia con los creyentes y sus hijos! ¡Y cuánto más podría decir hoy, positiva y negativamente, sobre una cosmovisión reformada en el capítulo 3! Con cierto pesar, resist la tentación. Una expansión habría producido un libro de tal volume que restaría utilidad y atractivo a la obra. He tratado de compensar algo de la carencia remitiendo al lector a otros escritos, incluido el mío, que desarrollan el breve tratamiento de este volumen de ciertas verdades importantes.
