Christmas is a very special holiday for many people around the world. In America, there is a migration of families and individuals homewards during Christmas. In Europe, many places close for Christmas and even whole cities seem to shut down. Families spend Christmas together. Loved ones gather for festive celebrations. There seems to be celebration in the air. Pedro Hernandez captures the essence of Christmas in a humorous way. Hernandez takes a frank look at Christmas as a social phenomenon. Relatives gather in what amounts to explosive situations at times. There is the dilemma of gift-giving. What presents would be good for mom and dad? What will my girlfriend like for Christmas? Headaches seem to come in waves, consecutively during Christmas. And there's the food. Lots of Christmas food, leading to a culinary dance of gluttony. Hernandez provides some practical advice to survive the Christmas holiday ordeal. The sound advice is delivered with a great sense of humor and will have you laughing throughout the book. The book is thoroughly illustrated with interesting and beautiful photos of door decorations for the Christmas season. This book is a treat for the mind as for the sight.
