Wie vermittelt das schulische Engagement die Leistung der Schüler? Ausgehend von der Feststellung, dass das schulische Engagement von Schülern in Burkina Faso nur wenig dokumentiert ist, insbesondere die Beziehung, die es mit der Leistung des Schülers eingeht, konzentriert sich dieses Buch auf die Analyse der Rolle, die dieses psychologische Konstrukt bei der Bestimmung der verschiedenen Leistungsniveaus der Schüler spielt. In diesem Buch finden Sie eine Analyse der Beziehung zwischen drei Arten von Engagement, nämlich affektivem, behavioralem und kognitivem Engagement, und den Schülerleistungen. Das Buch beleuchtet den bedeutenden Einfluss des schulischen Engagements auf die Qualität des Lernens und damit auf die Schülerleistungen. Insbesondere wird aufgezeigt, dass das kognitive und das affektive Engagement am stärksten mit den Schülerleistungen korreliert sind. Der Verhaltenstyp korreliert zwar auch mit den schulischen Leistungen, jedoch in geringerem Maße. Auch das psychologische Wohlbefinden steht in Abhängigkeit zur Schulleistung.
