Ziel der Untersuchung ist es, Beiträge von Schülern aus der Arbeiterklasse zu pädagogischen Praktiken zu sammeln, indem ihre Beziehung zum Schulwissen untersucht wird. Die Arbeit stützt sich auf die Überlegungen von Charlot, insbesondere auf seine Formulierungen zum positiven Lesen, zum Schulversagen und zur Mobilisierung von Wissen, und ihr Hauptziel besteht darin, zu untersuchen, welche Beziehungen Grundschüler im Alter zwischen 11 und 15 Jahren zum Schulwissen herstellen. Das im Rahmen der Untersuchung gesammelte Material wurde in drei Kategorien unterteilt: Beziehungen zu Lehrern und Schule, Beziehungen zu sich selbst und Beziehungen zum Schulwissen. Die Ergebnisse wiesen auf die Notwendigkeit einer konzeptionellen und praktischen Überarbeitung hin, da die Schüler von einer Erfahrung mit Wissen berichteten, die nur verstanden werden kann, wenn sie auf den Kopf gestellt wird, da deutlich wurde, dass sie an Lehr-Lern-Prozessen teilnehmen und nicht lernen.
