In hoc libro, Willis duabus disputationibus tractat, quarum prior agit de fermentatione. Fermentatio est processus chimicus, in quo microorganismi aut enzyma agunt in materia organica, ut producantur alia composta. Willis in hac disputatione describit processum fermentandi, et indicat quomodo fermentatio potest causare morbos. Disputatio secunda tractat de motu musculorum et nervorum, et Willis explicat quomodo nervi et musculi cooperantur in motu corporis.
