O presente trabalho tem como objetivo determinar os factores que influenciam o desenvolvimento das competências técnico-práticas dos graduados das Escolas Técnicas Industriais da Venezuela. Para alcançar os objectivos propostos, realizou-se uma investigação qualitativa sob o desenho da Investigação-Ação, na qual participaram quatro populações de informantes: estudantes avançados, professores de oficina e licenciados do curso de Mecânica de Manutenção Industrial de uma ITE do Estado de Carabobo, Venezuela, e supervisores de empresas. Os dados foram coletados por meio de quatro instrumentos: entrevistas semiestruturadas, questionários, guias de observação e análise documental.
