Não é segredo que as plataformas de redes sociais estão a proliferar a um ritmo sem precedentes e, com o acesso à Internet cada vez mais omnipresente, a disseminação de notícias falsas tornou-se um processo rápido e sem esforço. As ramificações deste fenómeno são profundas, particularmente nos domínios da política e da educação, onde o impacto das notícias falsas pode ser significativamente perturbador.Neste estudo de investigação, utilizaremos o Processamento de Linguagem Natural (PLN) para transformar títulos de notícias baseados em texto em vectores numéricos. Examinámos e contrastámos dois métodos de PLN, Bag of Words (BoW) e Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF), para ver o seu desempenho ao utilizar diferentes algoritmos de ML para identificar notícias falsas.Utilizaremos vários algoritmos de classificação de aprendizagem automática, incluindo Naïve Bayes, Regressão Logística, Random Forest e Support Vetor Machine. O nosso objetivo era identificar a técnica de PNL mais eficaz para identificar notícias falsas.
