Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2008 im Fachbereich Geschichte Europa - and. Länder - Mittelalter, Frühe Neuzeit, Note: 2,0, Universität Koblenz-Landau (Geschichte), Veranstaltung: Heilige im mittelalterlichen Rheinland, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Verehrung des Heiligen und Märtyrers Pantaleon ist auch heute noch im europäischen Raum verbreitet. Daher ist es interessant, den Weg seiner Reliquien und somit seiner Verehrung zu untersuchen. Da eine Betrachtung des gesamten europäischen Bereichs den Rahmen einer Hausarbeit sprengen würde, soll die vorliegende Arbeit den Weg der Pantaleonsverehrung aus seiner orientalischen Heimat ins Rheinland mit dem Schwerpunkt auf dem Mittelalter behandeln. Am Beispiel der Pfarrkirche St. Pantaleon in Unkel soll in einem Exkurs anhand der dort auch heute noch vorhandenen Darstellungen des heiligen Pantaleon seine Verehrung im Rheinland aufgezeigt werden.
