De Ingebeelde Zieke is een beroemd blyspel geschreven door Moliere in 1760. Het verhaal gaat over Argan, een rijke man die denkt dat hij ziek is en constant medische hulp nodig heeft. Hij is echter niet echt ziek, maar lijdt aan hypochondrie en wordt gemanipuleerd door zijn dokter en apotheker om meer geld uit te geven aan hun diensten. Ondertussen probeert zijn dochter te ontsnappen aan een gearrangeerd huwelijk en wordt verliefd op een jonge man, die toevallig ook de zoon is van Argans dokter. Het stuk is een satire op de medische praktijk en de hypochondrie van de rijken.
