Vatikanisches Konzil, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Im Rahmen des Seminars „Werkstatt II. Vatikanisches Konzil: Lumen Gentium - Identitätsbestimmung der Kirche im Kontext einer zusammenwachsenden Welt' befasste sich die vorliegende Arbeit mit dem ersten Kapitel der dogmatischen Konstitution Lumen gentium, das unter der Überschrift „Mysterium der Kirche' steht. In der Durchsicht der Texte geht es darum, Einflüsse und Anhaltspunkte einer Rezeption der Moderne beziehungsweise der modernen Welt aufzudecken und auszuwerten. Im Gegensatz zu anderen offiziellen kirchlichen Texten ist auffallend, dass der Sprachstil mehr erzählend, denn wissenschaftlich gehalten ist und daher auch leichter verständlich wird. Dadurch wird einem breiteren, auch theologisch weniger gebildeten Publikum das Lesen und die Auseinandersetzung ermöglicht. Dennoch ist der Inhalt hauptsächlich theologischer Art. Vor allem der Bezug der drei göttlichen Personen und die Grundlegung der Kirche werden betrachtet. Moderne Einflüsse sind deswegen eher zwischen den Zeilen als ausdrücklich zu finden. Nach einem rein inhaltlichen Überblick werden einige Passagen aus den Artikeln 1 und 8 näher beleuchtet und das neue Selbstverständnis von Kirche behandelt.
