L’arachide(Areca catechu L.) est un palmier tropical monoïque appartenant à la famille des Palmae. Les terreaux jouent un rôle important dans la croissance des cultures au cours des premiers stades de croissance en fournissant les éléments nutritifs nécessaires à une croissance saine et vigoureuse. L’arachide est une culture pérenne dont le processus de croissance est lent au stade de la plantule. Le développement des jeunes plants peut donc être amélioré par l’utilisation de différentes combinaisons de milieux de culture. Une expérience en pépinière a été menée pour déterminer les milieux d’empotage appropriés pour la culture de plants d’arachide dans des sacs en polyéthylène au College of Horticulture, Dr. BSKKV, Dapoli pendant la période 2021-22. L’expérience a été menée selon un plan en blocs aléatoires et comprenait huit traitements. L’expérience a révélé que les différents milieux d’empotage ont un impact substantiel sur la croissance des plants d’arachide. Le traitement contenant de la terre, du vermicompost et du sable dans une proportion de 1:1:1 s’est avéré le plus efficace pour favoriser la croissance et la production de plantules d’arachide robustes.
