The book covers the entire field of Cucumber viruses in one volume. Crops are continues damaged by a number of pest and diseases. Apart from fungal and bacterial diseases, a number of viral diseases have also been reported on cultivated cucurbits in recent year. Among these Cucumber mosaic viruses and its strain, Squash mosaic virus, Melon mosaic virus, bottle gourd mosaic viruses are important because of their worldwide distribution. This study concluded that characterization of virus, symptom, transmission, host range, biophysical characteristics, molecular tools, screening and antiviral agent etc. The selection/choice of data/details reflects the shortcomings of the author, but in general it covers a large part of syllabus of basic plant virology in most of the research institute. It is hoped that the student and teachers will find this book useful as part of research in Botany/Biotechnology/Plant virology.
