Depuis la moitié du 20ème siècle, les économistes et les décideurs économiques cherchent les voies et moyens pour combattre la pauvreté dans les pays en voie de développement. Parmi les stratégies adoptées, les spécialistes conseillent aux nations d’accroître le volume et la valeur de leurs exportations; une stratégie qui a réussi dans certains pays mais qui a conduit dans d’autres pays à la formation d’un dualisme juxtaposant deux classes dont une a un revenu très supérieur à l’autre. Au Rwanda, les exportations agricoles sont traditionnellement constituées de trois produits agricoles qui sont le thé, le café et le pyrèthre et ces cultures sont exploitées depuis plus de trois décennies. Le thé est l’une des cultures qui occupe un bon nombre de la population et une part importante des meilleurs sols dans les différentes régions du pays. La présente étude avait pour objectif d’analyser la répartition des recettes issues des exportations du thé et leur incidence sur les conditions de vie de la population impliquée dans ce secteur dans l’ex-district MUDASOMWA.
