Este estudo examina a integração da pedagogia do pensamento crítico no ensino secundário queniano, criticando tanto o sistema 8-4-4 em vigor como o mais recente currículo baseado em competências. Apesar dos objectivos declarados, nenhum dos currículos define claramente como o pensamento crítico deve ser ensinado. Utilizando a teoria kantiana do juízo crítico, a análise realça o envolvimento dos alunos na resolução de problemas como essencial para o desenvolvimento de competências de pensamento crítico.
