L’intégration de la technologie est une tendance dans l’éducation à travers le monde. Un certain nombre d’études ont prouvé ses avantages pédagogiques pour des élèves d’âges et de besoins différents. Cependant, l’acceptation et l’utilisation de la technologie dans les écoles dépendent en grande partie des enseignants qui sont prêts à intégrer la technologie dans la salle de classe. Maximiser le potentiel de la technologie à des fins éducatives est un défi, en particulier dans les pays du tiers-monde comme les Philippines. Cette étude donne un aperçu de la façon dont les enseignants du primaire aux Philippines se perçoivent eux-mêmes en termes d’attitude à l’égard des TIC, d’auto-efficacité informatique et de compétences en matière de TIC. Cette étude devrait donc être utile aux décideurs politiques éducatifs et gouvernementaux, aux chercheurs, aux chefs d’établissement, aux enseignants et à toute personne désireuse de comprendre comment les TIC peuvent avoir un meilleur impact sur le système éducatif des pays en développement d’Asie.
