Maximizar o potencial da tecnologia para fins educativos tem sido um desafio, especialmente nos países do terceiro mundo, como as Filipinas. Este estudo fornece um vislumbre de como os professores do ensino básico nas Filipinas se vêem a si próprios em termos da sua atitude em relação às TIC, auto-eficácia informática e competência em TIC. Assim, este estudo deve ser benéfico para os decisores políticos educacionais e governamentais, investigadores, diretores de escolas, professores e qualquer pessoa que possa estar interessada em compreender como as TIC podem ter um melhor impacto no sistema educativo dos países em desenvolvimento na Ásia.
