Poiché la continuità culturale è stata identificata come una delle funzioni primarie delle istituzioni dei mass media, questo studio esamina in modo approfondito i principali quotidiani pakistani online in lingua inglese in termini del loro ruolo di trasmissione dei valori culturali locali alle nuove generazioni. Le pagine dedicate allo stile di vita, che sono considerate una vetrina della selezione culturale del giornale, sono state analizzate quantitativamente. Lo studio ha rilevato che il 74% delle immagini presenti nelle pagine rappresentavano una cultura non pakistana, mentre il 6% ritraeva una cultura glocalizzata. D’altra parte, solo il 20% delle immagini analizzate rappresentava la cultura pakistana, il che significa che i principali quotidiani online pakistani in lingua inglese esemplificano evidentemente la cultura che non appartiene alla società locale.
