La gestion des forêts naturelles en Afrique subsaharienne est entravée par une compréhension limitée de l’état, des conditions et de la distribution de ces forêts en termes de structure, de composition, de régénération naturelle et d’évaluation quantitative des bénéfices tangibles et intangibles. En outre, la croissance de la population humaine est devenue une force majeure de la dégradation contemporaine des forêts pluviales dans de nombreuses zones rurales et urbaines dans la plupart des régions d’Afrique. Le livre examine donc l’impact de la croissance de la population humaine sur l’écosystème de la forêt tropicale dans cette région.
