A transmutação de terrenos agrícolas para aquacultura representa uma mudança significativa nos padrões de utilização dos solos com consequências ecológicas de grande alcance. Utilizando ferramentas geoespaciais avançadas, como o Google Earth Engine (GEE), este estudo investiga os impactos multifacetados desta transição nos ecossistemas terrestres e aquáticos. Através de uma análise exaustiva de imagens de satélite, classificação da ocupação do solo e técnicas de modelação espacial, exploramos as alterações nas caraterísticas da superfície terrestre, a dinâmica da qualidade da água e a fragmentação do habitat resultantes da transição da agricultura para a aquacultura. O estudo centra-se em vários parâmetros ecológicos fundamentais, incluindo a temperatura da superfície terrestre, índices de vegetação, indicadores da qualidade da água e conetividade da paisagem. Ao tirar partido do vasto arquivo de dados de satélite disponível através do GEE, acompanhamos as alterações destes parâmetros ao longo do tempo e através de escalas espaciais para elucidar as consequências ecológicas da transformação do uso da terra.
