A crescente atenção dada à preparação de conselheiros em matéria de toxicodependência e profissionais afins, utilizando práticas baseadas em provas, chamou a atenção para a importância do desenvolvimento e da implementação de programas de formação educativa neste domínio. Objetivo: Este estudo tem como objetivo analisar o impacto de um programa educativo adaptado sobre comportamentos aditivos no desempenho clínico dos enfermeiros no que diz respeito a atitudes terapêuticas, conhecimentos e práticas quando trabalham com clientes que têm problemas de abuso de substâncias. Métodos e Sujeitos: Neste estudo foi utilizado um desenho pré-pós quasi-experimental para testar a eficácia do programa de formação educacional. Foi recrutada uma amostra de 40 enfermeiros do Hospital de Saúde Mental El Abbasia. Neste estudo, foram utilizados quatro instrumentos de recolha de dados: a ficha de dados sociodemográficos, o Questionário de Conhecimentos sobre Dependência de Substâncias (SDKQ), o Inquérito sobre Atitudes Relativas ao Abuso de Substâncias (SAAS) e a Lista de Verificação de Competências para a Entrevista Motivacional (MISC). Os dois primeiros instrumentos foram desenvolvidos pelos investigadores, enquanto os outros dois eram instrumentos normalizados.
