L’obiettivo di questo libro è condividere l’esperienza di ricerca che ha avuto lo scopo di determinare la relazione tra la competenza comunicativa e il rendimento scolastico degli studenti del quarto semestre di Educazione fisica, ricreazione e formazione sportiva presso l’Universidad Nacional Experimental 'Francisco de Miranda', comune di Miranda, stato di Falcón. Dal punto di vista teorico, si basa sulla teoria di Habermas e sulla Teoria dell’azione comunicativa. Metodologicamente, aderisce al paradigma positivista, con un approccio quantitativo e caratteristiche di campo, descrittive e correlazionali. Dopo aver analizzato i risultati ottenuti attraverso il questionario rivolto ai 7 docenti dell’UNEFM e ai 13 studenti del semestre indicato, e in accordo con gli obiettivi specifici, concludiamo quanto segue: la competenza comunicativa degli studenti è molto carente considerando il livello universitario che già possiedono e tenendo conto che si tratta di studenti che hanno superato le materie di base della laurea in scienze dell’educazione, dove la padronanza e la comprensione della lingua è la base di qualsiasi processo di carriera universitaria.
