Lo studio si proponeva di analizzare le competenze di supervisione e di leadership didattica dei dirigenti scolastici delle scuole secondarie della regione di Eastern Visayas. La ricerca è stata condotta in modo mirato in tre (3) province dell’Eastern Visayas sotto sei (6) uffici di divisione del DepEd Region VIII e cioè: Borongan City Division, Eastern Samar Division, Catbalogan City Division, Samar Division, Leyte Division e Tacloban City Division. I partecipanti sono stati 181 dirigenti scolastici e 181 insegnanti di scuole medie e superiori. Come presentato, la competenza di supervisione dei dirigenti scolastici non ha rivelato alcuna relazione significativa con la leadership didattica basata sugli indicatori dell’ambiente di apprendimento, dello sviluppo e della gestione delle risorse umane, del coinvolgimento dei genitori e del partenariato con la comunità, della leadership scolastica, della gestione e delle operazioni. Questi risultati supportano l’evidenza dello studio di Saleem e Mahmood (2018) secondo cui le competenze e le abilità dei supervisori creano buone esperienze di supervisione.
