Hodowla bydła mlecznego jest szeroko rozpowszechnioną działalnością w Minas Gerais i ważnym czynnikiem gospodarczym dla stanu, często będąc głównym źródłem dochodu dla właścicieli w gminach takich jak São Geraldo da Piedade - MG. Celem tego badania było ustalenie, czy hodowcy bydła mlecznego charakteryzują wpływ hodowli zwierząt na środowisko w Córrego do Capoeirão, São Geraldo da Piedade - MG. Przeprowadzono badania bibliograficzne na ten temat, przeprowadzono wizyty na miejscu i rozdano kwestionariusze 15 właścicielom bydła mlecznego w badanym regionie. Stwierdzono, że głównymi skutkami hodowli bydła w regionie są erozja, tarasowanie i nieprawidłowe usuwanie odpadów stałych wynikających z kału i moczu bydła. Stwierdzono, że edukacja szkolna bezpośrednio wpływa na postrzeganie środowiska przez właścicieli, a wielkość nieruchomości nie wpływa na tę wiedzę.
