A presente investigação sobre 'Caracterização e gestão de Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cumini que causa a murchidão do cominho' foi realizada no Laboratório de Investigação P.G. e na Quinta de Investigação Patológica, Departamento de Fitopatologia, Universidade Agrícola de Junagadh, Junagadh, entre 2011-12 e 2013-14. A murchidão causada por Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cumini é uma doença grave dos cominhos. Tendo em conta a sua ocorrência regular e as perdas económicas, o agente patogénico da murchidão foi selecionado para a presente investigação, a fim de gerar informações para descobrir a natureza patogénica e a variabilidade entre diferentes isolados, o rastreio de cultivares/linhas e o ensaio de produtos químicos e bioagentes para a gestão da murchidão, em condições de campo, para encontrar uma solução económica e sustentável para a murchidão na cultura do cominho.
