Material infectado com fitoplasma proveniente de uma planta Protea foi enxertado em culturas saudáveis, para observar o impacto do fitoplasma da vassoura de bruxa da Protea (PWB) nas culturas. A técnica da reação em cadeia da polimerase (PCR) foi utilizada para identificar a presença de fitoplasmas na planta Protea.
