Richard Harding Davis (1864-1916) was a popular writer of fiction and drama, and a journalist famous for his coverage of the Spanish-American War, the Second Boer War, and the First World War. This book contains his memoirs. At the time these were written, Davis was a soldier, and while one normally writes memoirs at the end of their life, Davis explains how that might not have been an option for him.
