El cambio climático es una realidad y un desafío al que hemos de adaptarnos y responder. De acuerdo al grupo de Expertos sobre Cambios Climáticos (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) las actividades humanas han aumentado las concentraciones atmosféricas de gases con efecto invernadero que pueden ocasionar el calentamiento de la superficie de la Tierra y por ende se compromete la sostenibilidad del desarrollo humano porque amenazan los sistemas de apoyo ecológico de los que dependen la vida, la salud y el bienestar. Ante estos acontecimientos La Sociedad de Cambio Climático y Desarrollo Sustentable(SCCDS) participa en forma activa a través de la organización de eventos nacionales e internacionales y la denuncia del deterioro ambiental basado en estudios científicos. Como producto del IV Congreso Internacional de Cambio Climático y Desarrollo Sostenible organizado por la SCCDS efectuado en Monterrey, Nuevo León México, se presenta este libro el cual contiene una selección de trabajos que versan sobre temas de Alimentos, Biodiversidad, Educación ambiental, Legislación y Manejo de Residuo.
