A distribuição de agentes parasitários no meio ambiente constitui um importante problema de saúde pública. O objetivo deste estudo é determinar a biodiversidade das formas de disseminação de protozoários enteropatogênicos presentes nas águas subterrâneas e o impacto dos fatores ambientais na região Central (Camarões). As análises físico-químicas e biológicas foram realizadas seguindo métodos padrão. As análises físico-químicas revelaram que as águas subterrâneas se desviam dos padrões da OMS. Análises biológicas mostraram contaminação da água por patógenos. No geral, as densidades parasitárias foram maiores durante as estações chuvosas. Análises estatísticas mostram que os materiais em suspensão promoveriam o aumento da condutividade elétrica e promoveriam a redução das cargas parasitárias. A contaminação das águas subterrâneas por patógenos está associada à poluição circundante e é a principal causa de doenças diarreicas. Os problemas de contaminação ambiental em África estão ligados aos pobres, aos excrementos ao ar livre.
