Cette étude évalue l’efficacité de la station d’épuration à biodisque de l’Hôpital Biamba Marie Mutombo (Kinshasa) par une analyse physico-chimique et bactériologique des eaux usées, en amont et en aval du traitement. Face aux performances insuffisantes du système existant, un réacteur pilote UASB (Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket) a été installé pour en tester l’efficacité.Les paramètres analysés incluent la DCO, la DBO₅, les MES, la turbidité, les nutriments, la conductivité, le pH, l’oxygène dissous, la température, ainsi que les coliformes et streptocoques fécaux.Les résultats montrent un traitement insuffisant par la station actuelle, notamment pour la DCO, la DBO₅, le phosphore et les bactéries fécales. En revanche, le réacteur UASB a montré de fortes performances, avec des taux de réduction allant jusqu’à 93,7 % (DCO), 100 % (MES), et 100 % (coliformes fécaux).Le réacteur UASB se présente ainsi comme une solution efficace et adaptée au traitement des effluents hospitaliers dans ce contexte.
