Ben-Hur: Or The Days Of The Messiah is a historical fiction novel written by American author Lew Wallace and first published in 1880. The novel tells the story of Judah Ben-Hur, a Jewish prince who is falsely accused of attempting to assassinate a Roman governor and is sentenced to life as a galley slave. After years of captivity, Ben-Hur escapes and seeks revenge against his accuser, but he is also drawn to the teachings of a man named Jesus, who is preaching a message of love and forgiveness. As Ben-Hur’s journey unfolds, he becomes increasingly involved in the events surrounding the life of Jesus, including his crucifixion and resurrection. The novel is set in the Roman Empire during the time of Jesus, and it explores themes of justice, revenge, redemption, and faith. It has been adapted into several films and stage productions, including the 1959 film starring Charlton Heston, which won 11 Academy Awards. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
